Any advice on knowing when the right time to take a training is?
Making the commitment to bring yoga more fully into your life not easy. The work for those willing to do it is challenging, both physically and spiritually. The teacher training journey asks us to take an honest look at our own lives in the deepest ways including the choices we make and how it is we show up for ourselves and others. If you are feeling ready , we invite you to step into this journey with us - and in return we will offer you the steadiest of frameworks to support you fully along this path.
I don’t know if my practice is good enough to take a training - I've only been practicing a few years! I can't do a headstand/wheel pose/etc.
While we do recommend at least 2 years of yoga practice before diving into teacher training, there are no specific yoga poses you have to worry about being able to do perfectly - that's not what this is about! In fact, we spend our first several weekends together breaking down the essential yoga poses & figuring out how all levels can access them.
I know I will have to miss a few days of training for my sister's wedding/work/etc... how can I make up the work?
No problem - most people miss at least some portion of the training - from an unexpected few hours when a headache or cold hits you, to one or two full weekends you know ahead of time you already can't make. We'll support your makeup work plan and give you lots of ideas about how to make up the hours & content.
I'm not sure I want to teach yoga - does that mean Flow's teacher training isn't right for me?
Some people know for certain they do or don't want to teach... and many who think they absolutely don't want to teach but are looking to deepen their own practice actually end up changing their minds (I was one of them!). No matter what you feel right now, Flow's teacher training will create a deep exploration of your own yoga practice and give you the tools to teach or simply share yoga with friends, family, and your community. Whether or not you ever officially teach yoga, Flow's teacher training invites you to find your voice and empowers you to be a leader in your life.
