Sierra Weaver

Sierra was first drawn to yoga in 2001 as a way to maintain the flexibility and strength developed through her lifelong love of dance. She discovered early on, however, that there was a mental and spiritual side to this practice that she wouldn’t find in a hip hop or modern dance class. That early knowledge has deepened over the years as Sierra has personally experienced the power of yoga to carry her smiling through injury and illness, inspiring her to complete Flow's 200-hour teacher training program in 2007. Through her classes, she seeks to help all students befriend their bodies and themselves, learning to honor each moment and cultivate gratitude for whatever it might bring. Sierra's teaching style is influenced by her trainings with Sarah Powers, Sharon Salzberg, and Alison West, and offers students an opportunity balance to their fast-paced active lives (and yoga practices) with a slower, gentler combination of asana and meditation. Off the mat, Sierra is an environmental lawyer, currently working to protect our nation's wildlife from the impacts of a world not living mindfully.
