Wellness Holistic Health Therapies
Holistic health therapies including bodywork, nutrition, life-coaching and yoga therapy are healing modalities that takes into account the multi-dimensional nature (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) of human beings and strives to bring balance to the ‘whole’ person.
Holistic health is based on the premise that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. Given the right ingredients - appropriate nutrition, regular elimination of toxins, adequate rest and rejuvenation, intuned movement and mental/emotional balance – the body will heal, repair and recover into good health. A holistic approach to health addresses the underlying causes of health imbalances, clears toxic blockages and restores health through natural means. Holistic health therefore strives to promote health rather than confront discomfort and disease. It gives you the tools to renew, recharge and take control of your own health.
The study of yoga began as a dialogue between teacher and student. Here at Flow we honor that tradition by offering by offering Private Yoga for individual students or small groups. Private sessions are a great way to meet your individual needs for body-mind health, relaxation and stress management. Whether you are brand new to yoga, have a physical condition that needs special attention, or you would just like to have a specialized consultation regarding your personal yoga practice we highly recommend private sessions.
Meditation is the simple and direct practice of moment-to-moment mindfulness. Through careful and sustained observation, we experience the ever-changing flow of the mind/body process. With cultivated awareness we are able to accept more fully the pleasure and pain, fear and joy, sadness and happiness that inevitably occur in life. As insight deepens, we develop greater equanimity and peace in the face of change, and wisdom and compassion increasingly become the guiding principles of our lives. Our experienced meditation teacher, Hugh Byrne can give you the tools you need to begin or expand an already existing practice.
Pilates offers an approach to strength and flexibility training with exercises created to strengthen abdominal and back muscles while developing pelvic stability and abdominal control. A great compliment to any yoga practice, it promotes ease and efficiency of movement through focused, slow, careful and controlled exercise. The mind/body awareness developed in Pilates will improve your posture and form in all areas of your fitness program.
Private dance instruction is a great way to build confidence in your dance steps! Whether you are a couple preparing for your wedding or special day; or looking for some solo instruction - learn to tango, salsa, waltz, mambo, samba, freestyle - you name it! You can bring your favorite music or we will make appropriate suggestions.
Yoga therapy encompasses a wide range of applications and is used to treat injuries and chronic conditions of the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, nervous, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and reproductive, and endocrine systems. Thai Yoga Therapy
Thai Yoga Therapy utilizes three major techniques to bring healing to the body and focus the mind: stretching the muscles, ligaments and joints, massaging the of the fascia, and tension release of acupressure points. Its receivers benefit from increased flexibility, range of motion, muscle tension release and a clearer state of mind.
