bodywork   yoga therapy   accupuncture   life-coaching    nutrition

Holistic health therapies including bodywork, accupuncture, nutrition, life-coaching and yoga therapy are healing modalities that takes into account the multi-dimensional nature (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) of human beings and strives to bring balance to the ‘whole’ person.

Holistic health is based on the premise that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. Given the right ingredients - appropriate nutrition, regular elimination of toxins, adequate rest and rejuvenation, intuned movement and mental/emotional balance – the body will heal, repair and recover into good health. A holistic approach to health addresses the underlying causes of health imbalances, clears toxic blockages and restores health through natural means.   Holistic health therefore strives to promote health rather than confront discomfort and disease.  It gives you the tools to renew, recharge and take control of your own health.

Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy encompasses a wide range of applications and is used to treat injuries and chronic conditions of the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, nervous, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and reproductive, and endocrine systems.  Yoga therapy addresses conditions on the physical, psychological and spiritual levels and assists in the recovery from and management of injuries and chronic conditions.

Many of our teachers are trained in the therapeutic application of yoga as a healing art to improve overall health and well being.  Our therapists are available for both private and small group yoga therapy sessions

Private Yoga Therapy Sessions
60 minutes  $95 in studio; $150 out of studio
75 minutes $115 in studio; $170 out of studio
90 minutes  $130 in studio; $185 out of studio
**10% discount with purchase of 10 sessions

What to Expect in a Yoga Therapy Session
We recommend that your initial session be scheduled for 75 or 90 minutes.
In your first session, the therapist will do an intake interview that will address your symptoms as well as your goals and expectations so that an individualized short and long term plan can be developed.  This will be followed by a yoga practice.  Subsequent sessions will build upon the plan developed in the initial session, modified as needed, and deepened with more subtle practices and techniques.  The sessions will give you the tools you need to practice yoga in a safe and appropriate manner to help your particular condition.  The goal is to provide you with a yoga practice that you can use for prevention and to ease symptoms.

Therapeutic Bodywork

Thai Yoga Massage utilizes three major techniques to bring healing to the body and focus the mind:  stretching the muscles, ligaments and joints, massaging the of the fascia, and tension release of acupressure points.  Its receivers benefit from increased flexibility, range of motion, muscle tension release and a clearer state of mind.  Each session lasts a minimum of 1 1/2 hours and costs $120.

Acupressure/Shiatsu Based on the same philosophy as Acupuncture, the session focuses on balancing the flow of energy in the body. This is done by holding, applying finger and palm pressure, and stretching acupoints along the body's 14 primary meridians.

Reflexology is a healing technique that applies pressure to reflex points on the hands and feet that are known to correspond to every organ system in the body. By doing so, reflexology enhances deep relaxation, stimulates circulation & detoxification, and normalizes organ function.

Cranial Sacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and balancing the craniosacral system to restore the natural movement of fluid and related soft tissue thereby removing restrictions and allowing the body to self-correct.

Polarity Therapy is an integrative approach to healing and wellness that integrates energetic bodywork, energetic exercise and polarity yoga stretches to reduce stress, increase vital energy and promote healing through self-awareness.

Aroma-therapeutic Bodywork Aroma Therapeutic Bodywork is a deeply relaxing, non-invasive, non-manipulative bodywork technique that combines the science of aromatherapy with bodywork & energy healing to restore balance, health & vitality to the body.

Jin Shin Jyutsu  physio-philosophy is an ancient art of harmonizing the life energy in the body. Jin Shin Jyutsu brings balance to the body's energies, which promotes optimal health and well-being, and facilitates our own profound healing capacity. It is a valuable complement to conventional healing methods, inducing relaxation and reducing the effects of stress. Jin Shin Jyutsu employs twenty-six "safety energy locks" along energy pathways that feed life into our bodies. When one or more of the paths become blocked, the resulting stagnation can disrupt the local area and eventually disharmonize the complete path of energy flow. Holding these energy locks can bring balance to body, mind, and spirit. Learning Jin Shin Jyutsu engages one in self study, self help. Through the process of "now know thyself" we recognize the wisdom of the body, and we learn to interpret the messages provided and utilize them to restore balance.  Jin Shin Jyutsu is $100 per 1 hour session.

Massage Relax and rejuvenate mind, body and spirit, Improve circulation and muscle tone,Release tight, achy muscles, Eliminate toxins from your system, Alleviate inflammation and pain in joints and increase mobility with massage.  A variety of styles are offered including deep tissue, pre and post natal, Swedish,  NMT (neuromuscular technique),  Jin Shin Jistu (energy work), Deep Tissue, Thai Yoga, and Pre-Nataland your therapist will help you determine what will be best for you!

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Zero Balancing
Zero Balancing® is a bodywork system that blends together the western science of anatomy with the eastern concepts of energy movement to align our energy body with our physical structure. When these two aspects are out of balance, we feel mentally unclear, emotionally distressed, and are more susceptible to physical ailments. When structure and energy are in balance, we feel grounded, full of ease, and in harmony with ourselves and the world around us. ZB encourages the body to find its own balance, rather than force an outside template of what it should or shouldn't be. Because our energy bodies are constantly in flux, every session is unique. Many clients report a feeling of lightness with stability, or a feeling of expansion during and after a session. A typical session takes between 30 to 45 minutes, and is performed with the client fully clothed lying face up on a massage table. The practitioner evaluates, balances as needed, and then re-evaluates the client's energy fields and body structure. The pressure is gentle and should never be painful, although at times can reach the point where it "hurts good". You can receive Zero Balancing as often as you like, but it is recommended that you receive a minimum of three sessions to achieve results, as each session builds upon the last. For more information about ZB, got to http://www.zerobalancing.com.   One hour session is $80.

Tom Coen
Tom Coen became a certified massage therapist in 2001 and is also finalizing certification program for Zero Balancing.  Drawing from his experience of vibrational energy from his many years studying music, he sees his healing work as a harmonization of the body, mind, and spirit.  He brings to his work a profound respect for the inner perfection of every human, and believes that by realizing who we are in the present moment, and accepting that person, we can truly shine as that perfect being every hour of every day.

Acupuncture/Chinese Herbal Medicine

Acupuncture and Herbology are part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This ancient system encourages the body to heal naturally. The goal of acupuncture is to re-balance one's vital energy by stimulating specific points--called acupoints--along the body's meridians, or energy channels. This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or other stimulation at these precise acupoints. Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for acute and chronic health conditions. Women's Health & Pain Management specialists on staff.

Holistic Nutrition

A Holistic Nutrition Consultation is a complete nutritional evaluation based on the holistic, preventative principles of health. The consultation incorporates a variety of nutritional strategies – acid-alkali balance, raw foods, food combination, macrobiotics, allergy elimination, detoxification & nutritional supplements – to create a customized nutritional program for each client’s individual health, genetic and lifestyle needs.
