Highlights

Our curriculum is registered through the Yoga Alliance and exceeds their standards providing you with the most comprehensive and hands on training we know.

  • Unlike many training programs, at Flow, the entire curriculum is presented by Flow's Senior Teaching Team. While we will occasionally include an outside special guest for an elective, we believe at the core of an excellent program is the ability to develop a personal relationship with your teachers who know your name, see you on a regular basis and care about your development and progress on the teaching path.
  • The training curriculum builds intelligently week by week  The curriculum has developed over twelve years with a sense of professionalism so that your investment is respected and honored.  You will experience an offering filled with heart, soul and integrity.
  • The majority of our training sessions include 2-3 lead teachers and assistants in the room to help deepen the experience.
  • The pillars of our training are rooted in three main areas of study including personal development,  teaching practicums and the body of yoga that cohesively flow together to present a unified & comprehensive program.
  • All graduates have the option to assist in our popular public classes, mentor with our teachers and teach our weekly community class.
  • We offer a flexible training schedule, which is perfect for someone with an unpredictable calendar.
  • All of the teachers involved have been teaching and mentoring successfully for many years.  Core staff includes Debra Mishalove and Catherine Zack.  We are supported by Brittanie DeChino, Cory Bryant, Sam Breschi  Leah Kalinosky, Caroline Weaver, Maggie Grant and other Flow Senior Teachers.

Teacher Training Graduate Feedback

Flow’s 200-hour teacher training was a transformative experience — a friendly environment where I was supported, challenged, and encouraged to explore and find my own voice. I immersed myself in all the program had to offer and emerged with a well-rounded foundation for my ongoing yogic education that has sparked a lifelong passion for study, practice, and teaching. I am so grateful!
— Caroline Weaver, Flow Teacher
One of my favorite elements of the Flow’s teacher training program is the variety of experiences it offer prospective teachers. From Ashtanga to Jivamukti, classical Hatha Yoga to the revolutionary Prana Flow, students have the opportunity to taste various styles and then incorporate these principles into a unique and evolutionary approach to their own study of yoga. This all culminates in an ignited expression of teaching that is based on continual learning - it doesn’t get better than that.
— Greg Marzullo, Flow Teacher, Author
I spent a lot of time researching where to take yoga teacher training and am above and beyond happy and satisfied with Flow’s program. The studio itself is warm and welcoming. The teachers that run the program are knowledgeable, experienced and supportive. It’s the most non-judgemental, fun and accepting environment; no matter your yoga skill level or experience. The best part was that we touched on so many types and styles of yoga and there was a perfect balance between physical practice, philosophy, spirituality, anatomy and more. The teachers and training group were always available for questions and extra help. Flow Yoga Center’s YTT was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and it truly changed my life! I left the training well-rounded, confident and ready to conquer the world!
— Arlet Koseian, extendYoga owner/founder
Teacher training at Flow was truly transformational - it transformed not just my yoga study but the direction of my life! The training is completely comprehensive, covering everything from yoga philosophy to flowing vinyasa, sequencing to sanskrit, anatomy to assisting. The guest teachers are full of knowledge and experience, giving the training a rich fullness and providing each trainee with a rare and unique experience. It prepared me to be the teacher and leader that I am today and i am eternally grateful to Debra and all the teachers at Flow.
— Carissa Ciuca, Breathing Room Owner/Director
“My first yoga teacher training was at Flow and was such an inspiring experience. I loved the multitude of teachers and modalities we explored and the focus of turning to your own practice to teach from. It is still my favorite teacher training experience and very much set the ground for teacher I’ve become over the past nine years.”
— Mary Beth LaRue, LA-Based Yoga Teacher, Life Design Coach, & Writer
This experience CHANGED MY LIFE. Not only did it deepen my yoga practice, but it taught me patience with myself and others, to look at people in a different way, and compassion on a whole new level. The teachers are PHENOMENAL and you will love every second. I didn’t want it to end!
— Sandy Johnson Sisk
As I sit here finishing up my assignments, i have to pause and recommend this amazing training I just went through. In my opinion, no other studio in the dmv area even comes close to what Flow Yoga Center has to offer (and trust me i’ve made my rounds). Now imagine being trained by flows best teachers. Every guest teacher that comes in is like the mvp of the workshop they are teaching.
Even after the training, as I deepen my own practice, and start to teach, I feel so much support from my teachers Brittanie , Cory, and Debra Perlson. They have so many students who admire them, but they always make time to answer my millions of questions and ask how I am doing. Whether you want to teach, or just learn more about yoga, I cannot recommend this enough. I loved every single hour of it, it changed my world, and I just wish I could do it all over again.
— Stephanie Zabenah
Just taking a moment to encourage any of my yogi friends (and friends of friends, please share!) to consider Flow’s teacher training program this fall. As many of you know, I completed it this June after years of contemplation (and a bit of fear) and can attest to it being one of the best programs out there. Yes, it is 200 hours. Yes, it is challenging, intense, and demanding, both physically and emotionally. But it is without a doubt one of the best and most transformative experiences of my life and has brought me so many new experiences and dear friends, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Debra Perlson Mishalove, Brittanie DeChino, Cory Bryant, and Catherine Zack are among the most gifted, supportive, and inspiring teachers I have ever had and truly teach all eight limbs of yoga by example every day. I am more than happy to answer any questions about my experience—please don’t hesitate to send me a message.
